I want to make a NetNewsWire theme
My main RSS reader is NetNewsWire. However, I didn’t find the default themes suitable for me. I like how mobile Safari’s reader view lets you customize the experience.
One day I thought: “There must be a way to make themes for NetNewsWire”. And yes, there is. Information on it is kinda obscured but basically you take an existing theme and modify its HTML and CSS.
I still didn’t get to do it but I really want to. Otherwise, I’m left with opening NetNewsWire, tapping the title that opens the link in Safari, tapping the liquid glass thingy, waiting for it to grow, tapping it again, tapping the button “Show reader”.
Oh and some pages don’t support Safari’s reader view so I’m stuck with the article’s original mobile design and either I have to bump up the font a little or close the page entirely if it doesn’t support dark mode.
So yeah, my workflow could be so much better and all I have to do is sit my ass and build the theme. Maybe it could even help other people that fancy a similar mobile reading experience like mine.
