On writing tools for Bear mobile

This is being written in Apple Notes. Because it was the thing that I had open while waiting to ring my therapist’s bell in ten minutes.

My daily freewriting is done in Day One though.

Actually, I just switched from Apple Notes to Day One because the latter copies markdown to the clipboard which facilitates just pasting formatted links and publish in Bear Blog.

So I was about to say how fast is Apple Notes, and it is, but it’s not the right tool for posting to Bear Blog from my phone.

Day One is also fast. You could argue I need to unlock it, because I’ve jounaling there for 10 years and I want to have one more layer of protection, but after unlocking, it’s pretty much Apple Notes but markdown friendly.

Both apps work offline and sync encrypted via iCloud (I think).

Day One is paid and multiplatform.

Apple Notes is “free” (if you buy an iPhone).

Anyways, this wasn’t supposed to be a comparison but maybe that’s what sparked.

I may extend on tool comparison because it’s fun.

What’s your mobile workflow for Bear?

Thank you for reading.
